Learning Philosophy

The learning philosophy of the Kids Coaching Connection program is based on best practices, research and knowing that the greatest learning happens when participants are engaged with the learning, when they interact with and practice with the information that is being taught. We believe that learning is a transformational process and so we support participants to build on their skills throughout the program. The delivery of the program is based on the principles and model taught in the Kids Coaching Connection program; that both the participants in the Kids Coaching Connection program and the coachees are perfect, whole, complete, creative, resourceful and knowing. Participants are taught the ICF core competencies from the lens of coaching children, youth and families. Participants are provided with the opportunity to engage with the material and practice the skills and tools that are taught. Participants are given feedback on their coaching and are required to demonstrate at least a minimum of the ACC competency level by the end of the program. To support participants throughout the program and once they have graduated, they are offered a series of follow up calls as well as ongoing support through our private Kids Coaching Connection facebook page, community gatherings and group chats.

DEIJ Statement

The ICF Global Board of Directors approved the ICF Statement of Diversity, Inclusion, Belonging and Justice in July 2020. Staff and volunteer leaders from ICF’s six family organizations subsequently cosigned the statement. This statement of principles reflects a position we invite every ICF Member, Credential-holder and accredited provider to subscribe to. ICF Members and Credential-holders live and work in more than 140 countries and territories. ICF is a vibrant global community committed to the shared vision of making coaching an integral part of a thriving society. Our mission is to lead the global advancement of coaching. To do this, we must reflect on our blind spots and be aware of opportunities for improvement. We cannot ignore the challenges that many coaches and coaching clients face due to systemic problems in their communities. As members of the ICF community, we ascribe to the core values of integrity, excellence, collaboration, and respect. The foundation of these values is a shared commitment to diversity, inclusion, belong- ing and justice. We will place diversity, inclusion, belonging and justice at the forefront of every decision we make within our Association. As we continue the journey toward our vision, we will recommit ourselves to valuing the unique talents, insights and experiences that every coach and client brings to the world. Complaint/Grievance Policy

Kids Coaching Connection seeks to ensure equitable treatment of every participant of the program and to attempt to solve any complaints/grievances in a timely and fair manner. Participants have the right to file a complaint/grievance regarding any concerns with the leader, content, presentation or facility. All complaints/grievances will be dealt with in a timely manner and to the best of our ability to prevent further issues. In order to resolve a complaint/grievance, the following procedure will be followed: Step 1 - A participant will be guided to resolve the issue directly with the leader/trainer, staff or participant with whom they have a complaint/grievance. If a participant is not comfortable approaching the individual personally, they can proceed to the next step. Step 2 - If a participant is not comfortable approaching the individual with whom they have a complaint/grievance personally, or are unable to resolve the issue directly, they should then submit a written complaint/grievance to the Director of the program within 7 days. The Director will then review the issue and speak with the participant within 7 days of receiving the complaint/grievance. The Director will work with all parties involved to resolve the reason the complaint/grievance was made. Step 3 - If a participant does not feel the issue has been resolved, they should then submit a written request for a partial tuition refund for the module they are currently in. A written confirmation of receipt of this request will be made by the Director of the program within 72 hours. If the complaint/grievance cannot be made to the participants satisfaction, a prorated refund (based on the number of hours that have not been provided) will be credited to the participant within 7 days. All appeal decisions are final.
